NEW YORK, 1st April, 2017 (WAM) -- Majid Al-Suwaidi, the UAE Consul General in New York, has recently spoken to business and government leaders about the UAE-US bilateral relationship and opportunities for investment during a seminar hosted by the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU).
During the discussion, Consul General Al-Suwaidi gave details on the UAE’s trade relationship with the US, and focused on industry areas including finance, technology and renewable energy.
"Last year the US enjoyed a US$19 billion trade surplus with the UAE," Al-Suwaidi said. "According to the Census Bureau’s Foreign Trade Division at the U.S. Department of Commerce, the UAE remains the US’ top export destination for the entire Middle East and North Africa region."
BCIU is a nonpartisan, U.S.-based organisation that works to expand international trade and commerce. The discussion was sponsored by Pegasus Capital Advisors and moderated by Pegasus Chief Operating Officer Rick Davis.
