AMMAN, 4th April, 2017 (WAM) -- Bilal Rabie Bilal Al Bodour, UAE Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, has launched a sewing training centre on Monday in Abu Alanda, east of the Jordanian capital.

The event was hosted by the Society for the Development and Rehabilitation of Rural Women.

Ambassador Al Bodour and his delegation were received by Seita Al Hneiti Al Hadid, President of the Society for the Development and Rehabilitation of Rural Women, a number of the society’s members, and dignitaries from the area.

This project was part of the Year of Giving, which was adopted by the UAE as a theme for 2017. It is also part of the humanitarian work offered by the Mohammed bin Rashid Humanitarian and Charity Establishment in line with the directives of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to help and train needy families.

The establishment has offered funding for the UAE Embassy’s initiative in Amman, which includes the establishment of five sewing training centres in several areas of the kingdom.

Nearly 170 quality sewing machines have been distributed to five sewing training centres established for this purpose.

Ambassador Al Bodour confirmed that this project comes as part of the Year of Giving, which aims to develop the practical abilities and capabilities of honest women and individuals to continue supporting their families.

The beneficiaries thanked the UAE for its continuous initiatives to help the Jordanian people while stressing the importance of this initiative in targeted areas and governorates.
