MUKALLA, 9th June, 2017 (WAM) -- The Emirates Red Crescent on Friday delivered humanitarian and relief aid to the most underprivileged families in Mukalla, the capital city of Yemen's southern coastal governorate of Hadhramaut, as part of an aid operation that also covers the governorates of Shabwah and Ma'rib throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Beneficiaries of the UAE's latest aid delivery include a large number of widows and children.
As part of its ethical and humanitarian commitment, the UAE seeks to ease the suffering of Yemenis and plug address food shortage during Ramadan, according to the head of the Emirates Red Crescent's team in Hadhramaut, who said that the humanitarian agency will intensify efforts in the three governorates.
Under-Secretary for Technical Affairs in Hadhramaut Governorate, Mohammed Al Amoudi, who attended the delivery of aid, thanked the Emirates Red Crescent for supporting Yemenis, and praised the UAE for delivering timely assistance to the affected population in liberated governorates during the current difficult circumstances.
