WAM Abu Dhabi, March 27th, 2009 (WAM)--Saudi poet, Ziyad bin Hijab bin Nehait, has been crowned as the millions' poet in the final contest which included other four compatriots. Poets A'yidh Al Dhafairi, Mohammed Al Faris Al Tamimi, Ayidah Al Juhni occupied the second, third, fourth and fifth positions respectively.

Nehait won the title and Dh5 million, while Al Dhafairi who scored the second position got away with Dh4 million, Al Tamimi won Dh3million and Al Juhni got Dh2 million.

The closing ceremony of the millions' poet contest in its third edition was attended and honoured last night by HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Dubai Crown Prince HH Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Also present at the event were Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Khalid, Mohammed Khalaf Al Mazrouei, director general of Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage, a number of senior officials, diplomats, audience mainly from Saudi Arabia and media persons.

Covered live by the Abu Dhabi Satellite Television, the competition among the top five poets was intense as they excelled and performed wonderfully.
