ABU DHABI, 17th December, 2014 (WAM) -- T. P. Seetharam, Ambassador of the Republic of India, has praised the strong and historic ties between his country and the UAE.
During a meeting with the Emirates News Agency, WAM, he said, "Bilateral relations have witnessed a notable development in past years in various domains, especially investment, economic and trade fields." Regarding India's hosting of the second Sheikh Zayed International Peace Conference next Friday under the banner of "Renaissance of the World Through Peace," as part of the Calicut Jamia Markaz 37th Annual conference and convocation, Seetharam noted, "The conference represents an international message about the importance of enhancing peace, co-operation and love among peoples across the world, citing the role of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of the UAE, whose wisdom and far-sighted vision could unify the UAE amid this critical period in the region." He added, "The late Sheikh Zayed succeeded in transforming the UAE into a developed country in a record time, thanks to his wise and balanced policy with various countries around the world, which contributed positively to the stability of the country, where more than 200 nationalities live in peace, stability and respect." He also called on Emirati businesspersons to invest in his country, which enjoys an attractive investment environment and offers other opportunities.
Regarding assisting Emiratis who wish to visit India, Seetharam said, "We have been using e-visas since the beginning of December, thus UAE citizens can submit their data electronically four days before traveling and they will receive a response through their e-mails."
