ABU DHABI, 28th March 2015 (WAM) - The UAE fighter jets continued their air strikes against Houthi-controlled targets in Yemen's Sana'a and Ma'reb. The strikes are part of Operation: Al Hazm Storm, launched by the Arab coalition to protect the Yemeni people and their legitimate government from the violent and extremist Houthi militias.
In Sana'a, the UAE fighters targeted the Scud air defence systems and Houthis camps while in Ma'reb, they hit air defence systems, command and control centres and logistics storage and supply centres.
All fighter jets returned to their bases safely.
The UAE is participating in operations in Yemen as part of a Saudi-led Arab coalition of over ten countries to protect the Yemeni people and their legitimate government.
