Yemeni army, resistance forces liberate areas west of Taiz


TAIZ, 16th February, 2017 (WAM)-- The Yemeni National Army, backed by the Yemeni National Resistance, today liberated a number of areas west of Taiz from the rebel Houthi group and militias loyal to the now-ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh, according to a Yemeni military source, Yemen's official Saba news agency reported.

The army attacked the posts of the rebels in Maqbanah District and retook control of Jabal Al Sanmah, Jabal Habouk, Tabbat al-Rakzah and a village near Souk al-Kadha after hours of battles.

Violent fighting broke out between the army and the rebels in areas located between Mokha and Khokha, west of Taiz.
