WASHINGTON, 15th March, 2017 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, today met with a delegation of US Senators in Washington.
During the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them in all fields, reviewed a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, and discussed the situation in the Middle East.
Sheikh Abdullah stressed the UAE's keenness to enhance joint cooperation and strategic partnerships with the US in various fields, and its support to combat terrorism and achieve stability and peace in the region.
The delegates expressed their appreciation of the mutual relationship, which enjoys ongoing support from both countries. They also said that they appreciated the efforts made by the UAE in the areas of humanitarian work, promoting stability in the region, fighting terrorism, and adopting a platform of moderation. They praised the leading role of the UAE at regional and international levels.
The meeting was attended by Yousef Mana'a Saeed Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States of America.
