FUJAIRAH, 12th April, 2017 (WAM) -- The UAE, represented by the Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation and the Ministry of Energy, is participating in the 23rd meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Mineral Resources Sector at the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organisation, AIDMO, which began its work yesterday at its headquarters in Rabat, continuing until tomorrow.
The country is represented in the meeting by Khalid Al Hosani, Director of the Geology and Mineral Resources Department at the Ministry of Energy, and Eng. Ali Qasim, General Manager of the Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation. During the meeting, the arrangements for Fujairah’s hosting of the 5th International Forum for Industrial Rocks and Mining and its accompanying exhibition will be discussed.
The meeting also discussed the AIDMO’s accomplishments during the period between its 22nd and 23rd meetings, while following up on the 22nd meeting’s executed recommendations from the Advisory Committee of the Mineral Resources Sector. It also discussed the organisational activities of the Mineral Resources Department during this period, part of which is the 14th International Arab Mineral Resources Conference and its accompanying exhibition, which took place in Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, and the 6th Deliberative Meeting of Arab Ministers on mineral resources that was held on the sidelines of the conference.
The participants reviewed the subject of updating the mining sector database in Arab countries and demonstrated the Mineral Resources Department work programme for 2018, as well as forming the preparatory committee of the 15th International Arab Mineral Resources Conference that will be held in 2018, in co-operation with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources in Egypt.
