ABU DHABI, 21st April, 2017 (WAM) -- The Unified Media Campaign Broadcast "For You Somalia" was launched on Friday by Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah TVs, as well as local radio stations to mobilise support for the campaign commenced under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to curb the famine in Somalia.
The campaign also has the support of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the follow-up of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region, and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC).
The UAE is racing to save Somalia and alleviate the suffering of the Somali people, as drought threatens the lives of thousands of people. It plays a leading role in the relentless efforts to deliver emergency aid to the affected areas.
Donate to "For You Somalia" campaign by sending SMS Etisalat to 4010 for AED10, 7050 for AED50, 7100 for AED100, and 7200 for AED200.
You can also donate through Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company 'du' by sending SMS to 7110 to donate AED10, 7150 for AED50, 7100 for AED100, and 7,200 to donate AED200.
Donations can also be made through Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank's account AE97050000000020000307, Dubai Islamic Bank AE650240003520467890701, Sharjah Islamic Bank AE130410000011445518014, and Al Hilal Bank AE720530000026419000166.
The fundraising campaign is also taking place at shopping malls across the UAE.
Last week, the ERC announced the launch of the "For You Somalia" campaign.
The unified media broadcast campaign "For You Somalia" started on Abu Dhabi TV from 2 pm to 4 pm, on Dubai TV from 4 pm to 6 pm, on Sharjah TV from 6 pm to 7:30pm, and again on Abu Dhabi TV from 7:30pm to 8 pm.
