CEO of AFP pays tribute to Emirates News Agency's professionalism and credibility

PARIS, 23rd April, 2017 (WAM)--Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Agence France-Presse (AFP) Emmanuel Hoog, has praised the high professionalism and credibility of Emirates News Agency (WAM).

During his meeting with Mohamed Jalal Al Rayysi, Executive Director of WAM on the sidelines of the meeting of the heads and directors of Arab news agencies, said Emirates News Agency "enjoys a high credibility and transparency in handling of events. It is a reliable source of news."

Hoog expressed his satisfaction at the meeting between WAM and AFP and the mutual desire to deepen cooperation between the two parties, describing the ties as "sincere and influential in the media environment."

Mohammed Jalal Al-Rayysi stressed the importance of strengthening relations with the AFP, which have a long history in media practice an professionalism. "We are very pleased with the presence of the regional office of AFP in Dubai," he said.

Al Rayysi added that the cooperation between the two parties in the field of news exchange and related fields of digital media was emphasised during the meeting. He stressed the importance of the meeting as it provided a great opportunity for the two parties to discuss the future of the press in the world, especially in the Middle East.

He underlined that the Arab news agencies agreed with their French counterpart to enhance cooperation and mutual benefit.

The talks between the heads of the Arab news agencies and the Chief of Agence France-Presse touched on the cooperation between the AFP and the Arab agencies in various fields, including the areas of training, supervision, and exchange of information between the two parties.

The delegation of the Emirates News Agency visited the headquarters of the AFP while in Paris, where it was briefed on various departments, the latest technologies and programmes used by the Agency.
