Government approves infrastructure projects worth AED410 million

ABU DHABI, 2nd May, 2017 (WAM) -- The Follow up Committee of the Initiatives of the UAE President has approved a number of projects totalling AED410 million in implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

In a meeting on Monday, chaired by Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs, the committee approved the first phase of an infrastructure project which will see a road built between Wadi Al-Qor and another linking the Al-Hubab roundabout and Nizwa Road for AED290 million. The committee also approved phase one of a project to renovate the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Ajman for AED30 million.

In addition, the committee set-up a project for the construction of a sewage network in the Emirate of Umm Al Qaiwain worth AED21 million, another for establishing an internal road network, as well as a project for building 168 housing units for citizens in the city of Kalba, for AED15 million.

A project for the construction of internal roads in the Emirate of Ajman worth AED11 million was also put into practice. Another project, worth AED14 million, which will se the upgrade of the Al Ajili road in Ras al-Khaimah, was set-up by the committee, along with another housing project for citizens in the Al Ain region for AED29 million.
