CAIRO, 19th May, 2017 (WAM) -- A number of Doctors of Charity from the UAE and Egypt have provided medical treatment for thousands of children and elderly people through the Zayed Giving Convoys.
The Zayed Giving Convoys provide their diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic services at the Egyptian villages through a specialised voluntary field hospital " Charity Mobile Hospital".
The gesture was in line with the Year of Giving Initiative 2017 launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and a collaborative initiative by the Zayed Giving Initiative, Dar Al Ber Association, the Saudi-German Hospital, Sharjah Charity House and the Saudi-German Hospital, in coordination with The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population, Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports, UAE Embassy in Cairo.
The move represents a distinguished role model in the humanitarian work and voluntary medical relief.
Ambassador Dr. Reem Othman, Executive Director of Saudi-German Hospital, said that the doctors have provided medical treatment for 2500 children and elderly people through three medical teams.
She also hailed the efforts of the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population and other partners from the Emirati and Egyptian health and voluntary bodies who presented a distinguished role model of partnership in the humanitarian and societal field.
Beneficiaries hailed the voluntary efforts of the Doctors of Charity and extended thanks for the UAE Government and people for their support for the medical cadres.
