TAIZ, 19th May, 2017 (WAM) -- The Yemeni national army and the pro-government popular resistance forces have liberated more areas west of Taiz governorate, southwestern Yemen, from the rebel Houthi militia and forces loyal to the now-ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh, the state Yemeni news agency reported on Friday.
Twelve rebel militants were killed and six others captured in the battles. One BMP armoured personnel carrier was destroyed and two vehicles seized, said Amin Al Mekhlafi, an army commander.
The liberated areas include al-Kadaha, Tabbat al-Quroon, Jibal al-Sharaekh and Dirkhaf, as well as the villages of Hob al-Raee, al-Qatna and Madrasat Khalid, the commander added.
