ABU DHABI, 7th June, 2017 (WAM) -- Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, ADFD, today launched its ‘My Community’ programme, as part of the its corporate social responsibility, CSR, mandate.
The volunteer programme is amid at enhancing civic responsibilities, and instilling a spirit of social solidarity and volunteerism within the community.
In addition to strengthening the principles and values of volunteerism across the fund’s departments, the community programme also aims to bolster partnerships among local public and private sector companies and tasks ADFD’s employees with completing 25 volunteer hours annually.
Speaking at the launch, Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADFD, said, "The ‘My Community’ programme aims to articulate and support the efforts, goals and objectives outlined by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the #Year of Giving."
He added, "Through endorsing social and humanitarian causes and spreading a culture of volunteerism among our employees, ADFD is pleased to reiterate our service to the nation and reinforce the general well-being of the local community."
ADFD, over the last 10 years, has pursued an active CSR agenda and as a result, the fund was ranked among the top five best UAE government organisations in the 2015 edition of the Arab Social Responsibility Awards.
