Injured Yemenis return home following UAE-funded treatment in India


ADEN, 22nd November, 2017 (WAM) -- A number of wounded Yemenis who have been receiving medical treatment in India as part of a UAE-funded programme, arrived back home in Aden earlier today.

The humanitarian gesture was carried out by the Emirates Red Crescent in implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the follow-up of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra.

The returning wounded and their accompanying companions paid tribute to the UAE, expressing their thanks and appreciation for efforts made to improve the living and health conditions of Yemenis.

The provision of medical care for those injured in Yemen is part of ongoing programmes that addresses difficult circumstances facing the population as a result of the violations being carried out by the Houthi militias in the country.
