UAE doctors provide treatment to Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh on UAE's 46th National Day


ABU DHABI, 2nd December, 2017 (WAM) -- A team of UAE doctors has provided medical treatment to hundreds of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh during the trial run of the UAE mobile hospital for children and the elderly.

In line with the UAE's 46th National Day celebrations, the initiative aims at providing the best specialised, diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive services as part of the "Year of Giving 2017" and enhancing the role played by the UAE and its humanitarian mission.

The joint initiative was carried out by the Zayed Giving Initiative, Dar Al Bar Society, Sharjah Charity House, Saudi German Hospital and Hope Foundation for Women and Children of Bangladesh in a distinctive model of human partnership.

The UAE mobile hospital Bangladesh is operating within the framework of the Zayed Giving Convoys and the UAE mobile field hospitals to provide health care to children and the elderly in tents, headed by Emirati heart surgeon, Dr. Adel Al Shamari, in co-ordination with the government, private, and non-profit organisations.
