National Archive takes part in Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival

ABU DHABI, 11th January, 2018 (WAM) -- The National Archive is taking part in The Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival with a special "The Nation Memory" exhibition portraying the UAE’s history through documentary films. The films look at the country prior to the formation of the federation and also at its subsequent development, up to the current era of prosperity under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Organised as part of celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the birth of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the exhibition includes two documentary films. One starts in 1918, when the UAE’s Founding Father was born, and looks at his great role in establishing and building the UAE, along with his local and international achievements, while the second film dealt with the events related to his around death.

The exhibition also includes two other documentary films about the Union, shedding light on the role of Sheikh Zayed and his fellow founding fathers in the establishment of the Union and the UAE’s development, pointing out that the Union was the beginning of the real renaissance in the UAE in all fields. They explain that these developments were a natural result of the great efforts made by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the efforts of his brothers, the Rulers of the UAE.

The documentary about Sheikh Zayed's death reviews his achievements and efforts in building the UAE, and how he always supported the Arab nation and the world in general.

The Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival embodies the values of tolerance and love adopted by the UAE through the convergence of many of the world's civilisations and culture on the land of the country, based on Sheikh Zayed's approach in preserving heritage and urging the younger generations to explore it.

The festival is running until 27th January, 2018, with the participation of more than 30 countries.
