UAE to hold five-day Journey of Happiness

DUBAI, 10th March, 2018 (WAM) -- Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, the National Programme for Happiness and Positivity will launch the second edition of the UAE’s Happiness Journey from 15th to 20th March, and coinciding with the International Day of Happiness on Tuesday, 20th March.

The Happiness Journey aims to reinforce the UAE’s vision of building a sustainable society, grounded in the wellbeing of its people, instilling happiness as a way of life and positivity as a way of thinking.

Inspired by the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Happiness Journey will focus on the happiness values adopted by the nation’s founding father since the formation of the United Arab Emirates.

Throughout the five-day event, the journey will raise awareness about happiness values and wellbeing habits among the community through interactive educational activities and multi-sensory experiences.

The Happiness Journey kicks off with the first-of-its-kind Happiness Carnival, highlighting the values of happiness and wellbeing in a colourful and eye-catching spectacle. The Carnival will take place on Thursday, 15th March at 17:00 down Al Mustaqbal street, City Walk Dubai, with the participation of more than 2,000 people from 200 nationalities to experience the UAE’s rich cultural diversity.

The Happiness Journey, will be running from 16th to 20th March at the Dubai Design District (d3) The Block, a brand new recreational space, and will focus on happiness and wellbeing themes including Mind Wellbeing, Physical Wellbeing, Emotional Wellbeing, Gastronomy and Art, highlighting their importance in attaining happiness.

The Happiness Journey includes a series of unique cognitive experiences, events, diverse sessions and inspirational open dialogues with the participation of local, regional and international speakers, and happiness and wellbeing experts.

The National Programme for Happiness and Positivity confirmed that the attendance and participation of the Happiness Journey activities are open to the public and will conclude with a wide community participation at The Block on Tuesday, 20th March, celebrating The International Day of Happiness.
