Arab Parliament condemns Iran's meddling into Yemen's internal affairs

CAIRO, 3rd October, 2018 (WAM) -- The Arab Parliament has condemned Iran's meddling into the internal affairs of Yemen and its support for Houthi militias.
In a statement issued today titled "Developments of the Situation in Yemen", the Parliament reaffirmed the necessity of reaching a peaceful solution to the Yemeni crisis according to the three main references of the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of National Dialogue Conference on Yemen and UNSC Resolution 2216.
"The Houthis every day provides a new evidence of their intransigence and unwillingness to engage in any peaceful settlement of the Yemeni crisis, with their recent failure to attend the Geneva negotiations round on Yemen representing a new proof of their desire to foil any peaceful initiatives," said the statement, which holds the rebels accountable for the continued suffering of the Yemeni people due the coup they have perpetrated and triggered the crisis.
The Parliament expressed full support for the Arab Coalition's efforts to restore legitimacy and end the coup, condemning the rebels' continued use of booby-trapped boats and explosives targeting the international shipping lines in the Red Sea in a flagrant violation of international law. It called upon the international community to shoulder responsibility and take decisive and immediate action against the grave threats posed by Houthis to international peace and security.
The statement cited the recent act of storming perpetrated by Houthis against an orphanage house in the capital Sanaa and their recruitment of orphan children and their use as human shields across battle fronts as a recent blatant example of the coercive force used by the rebels in defiance of all humanitarian and divine laws and conventions in a way that necessitates their trial by the International Criminal Court
