ECT to host academic workshops in collaboration with leading trainers


ABU DHABI, 15th April, 2019 (WAM) -- The Emirates College of Technology, ECT, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with Tamakkan – BrandMoxie, that will see the organising of seminars and workshops focusing on innovation, entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship, communication and digital technology.

Aligned with the Ministry of Education Vision 2030, the MoU aims to deliver innovative, holistic 21st-century pedagogy to individuals, corporate professionals and the government sector. It covers the core priorities of building an innovative educational system, sharpening of skills as the cornerstone for enhanced learning; supporting individuals and organisations with greater understanding of acquiring the latest digital skills, and empowering companies and government bodies to be more effective and efficient through the development of creative digital communication programmes and management strategies that enhance the country's competitiveness globally.

Under the auspices of ECT’s Centre of Continuing Education which has been offering courses to the local community in Abu Dhabi and UAE for more than 25 years, the workshops will be designed to offer the best learning practices in relevance to education and technology today.

"It is our aim to support skill development in the Emirates offering advanced learning opportunities. The signing of this agreement is another step towards addressing the needs of communities, providing them with quality courses and programmes for technical skills needed to contribute fully to national development and labour market needs," commented Professor Abdul Rahim Sabouni, Acting President and CEO of the Emirates College of Technology.

The workshops and seminars will utilise ECT‘s in-house resources and expertise for skill development. They will also have special modules on SME training including new skills such as online retail, branding, social media, web design, Search engine optimisation (SEO), content creation and pitching for investors.
