Saif bin Zayed honours doctors and supporters of UAE's Waterfalls Initiative

ABU DHABI, 12th March, 2022 (WAM) -- H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, has recognised several supporters of the Waterfalls Initiative for Continuous Education, who have supported the achievement of the programme's objectives.

Launched from the UAE to the world by the Department of Behavioural Rewards at the Ministry of Possibilities, in cooperation with INDEX Holding, the programme is a pioneering initiative that supports and recognises front-liners' efforts which resulted in developing the healthcare and medical sectors around the world during the COVID-19 pandemic.

H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif awarded the Community Service Medal to Gennaro Migliore, Member of the Italian Parliament, President of Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM); Dr. Sergio Piazzi, Secretary-General, PAM; Majallie Whbee, Israel’s Roving Ambassador to PAM and PAM’s Ambassador to the United Nations (UN); Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Chairman of INDEX Holding; Ambassador Gerhard Putman-Cramer, CEO of DIHAD Sustainable Humanitarian Foundation and PAM's Permanent Observer to the UN and other International Organisations in Geneva; Amin Awad, UN Crisis Coordinator for Ukraine, Senior Fellow, Advanced Leadership Initiative, Harvard University, Cambridge, USA; Dr. Ali Al Sayed Hussain, Director of the Pharmaceutical Services Department at the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Chairman of Dubai International Pharmaceuticals and Technologies Conference & Exhibition; Dr. Ramadan Alblooshi, Advisor to the DHA Director-General, Director of Public Health, DHA, and Scientific Chairman, Healthcare Future Summit; Dr. Fawzi Amin, Head of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies delegation for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries; and Dr. Kamal Benmansour, Director of the Tawassol Dentists Group, Treasurer of the Arab Federation of Dentists, and Secretary-General of the Maghreb Union for Dentists.

Moreover, Lt. General Sheikh Saif recognised 197 doctors for their excellent efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic and their participation in delivering specialised lectures and seminars as part of the initiative, thus contributing to the success this humanitarian programme that aims to provide focused education and training to healthcare professionals.

In line with the directives of the UAE leadership to provide academic education to healthcare professionals, the initiative has recorded over 1.2 million beneficiaries through over 550 lectures delivered by 353 specialists.

The academic educational materials and courses presented through the Waterfalls Initiative have received accreditation from 6 prestigious scientific institutions and over 41 international associations, societies, and academies.
