ABU DHABI, 5th September, 2022 (WAM) -- The 23rd Arab Regional Conference for Girl Guides kicked off on Monday at the Abu Dhabi Heritage Hotel, in the presence of a number of ministers and officials from government and private institutions.
The conference, organised by the UAE Girl Guide Association (UAEGGA) in cooperation with the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) Arab Region, bears the slogan "Together we thrive", and is being held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF).
In addition to the UAE, a number of Arab countries are participating, including Jordan, Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Syria, Sudan, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, and Egypt, in addition to representatives of the WAGGGS.
The conference will witness the election of the new Arab Regional Committee for Girl Guides and a review of the Arab regional strategic plan, as well as a discussion of the developments made at the regional level by reviewing the regional report for the triennium. The round-table will also witness a review of the initiatives of the world association, the future direction of the global strategic movement, in addition to various other topics related to the regional guiding movement.
