ABU DHABI, 29th May, 2017 (WAM) -- The Youth of Giving convoys have started their volunteer missions in Abu Dhabi as part of the Zayed Giving Initiative, with the active participation of hundreds of UAE youth volunteers from the Emirates Programme for Ramadan Youth Volunteering.
Their missions include the implementation of many community programmes that aim to strengthen the culture of volunteer work and community giving, as well as to develop the skills of youth and invest in their energies by enabling them to serve the community, regardless of their colour, ethnicity or religion, based on the directives of the wise leadership to make 2017 the #Year of Giving.
Moza Al Otaibi, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Giving Initiative, said that volunteer work has become a way of life in the UAE, highlighting that the UAE continues to encourage people to volunteer and youth to become involved, to build a strong community.
Al Anoud Al Agami, Executive Director of the Emirates Volunteer Centre, reaffirmed that the Zayed Giving Initiative is keen to attract youth, develop their skills and empower them to become more involved in community volunteer work by organising several volunteer programmes, under the framework of the Emirates Programme for Community and Specialised Volunteering.
