Zayed Giving Caravans continue medical services in Egyptian villages

ABU DHABI, 17th April 2017 (WAM) -- The Zayed Giving Caravans are continuing to offer free medical treatment to more than 4,000 children and elderly people in several Egyptian villages for the second day through its volunteer field hospital in Sharqiya governorate.

Dr. Reem Othman, Humanitarian Work Ambassador, expressed her happiness on the success of the humanitarian giving campaign in Egypt and other countries, stressing that the volunteer field hospital programmes were gaining the support of the UAE and Egyptian health and humanitarian organisations.

Dr. Adel Al-Shamri, Emirati cardiologist, confirmed that an operational plan for the field hospital had been put in place for the next phase, which would focus on the fieldwork in villages and specialised work in heart surgery centres in Ain Shams hospital and Sheikh Zayed Heart Centre in Egypt, which would be equipped with the latest medical technologies.

Egyptian heart surgeon Prof. Morsi Amin from Suez Canal University, who is a member of the Medical Volunteer Team, praised the Zayed Giving Initiative for its support to the humanitarian giving campaign, enabling the volunteer medical team to provide treatment, its preventive and surgical services, and for presenting an exceptional model in joint humanitarian volunteer work.
