ABU DHABI, 19th June, 2017 (WAM) -- Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance, has affirmed that the UAE's values and principles are based on tolerance, fraternity, goodness and generosity. It has always endeavoured to enrich the noble human values among all peoples, cultures and religions, emphasising the imperative of living together in mutual respect, cooperation, and solidarity.
This came during her meeting with a delegation from the Jebel Ali Churches Council at her office at Zayed University, in which she explained the tolerance philosophy of the UAE under the guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
She added that the UAE has become an oasis of dignity, loyalty, tolerance and brotherhood, and embraces people from more than 200 nations and territories living in peace and harmony with respect and appreciation.
The delegation expressed their satisfaction with the great support and care enjoyed by various nationalities, religions and cultures in the UAE. They praised the pioneering humanitarian initiative of His Highness the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi to rename the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Mosque in Al Mushrif area to 'Mariam Umm Eisa' mosque, which translates from Arabic as 'Mary, Mother of Jesus', coinciding with Zayed Humanitarian Day, which falls on the 19th of Ramadan each year.
