Intersec 2004 conference offers solutions to fire and security hazards Dubai, Jan.7,2004 (WAM) -- The Intersec 2004 security exhibition set to be held in Dubai from January 25-27, will host a parallel conference featuring top security experts from around the world to discuss the various issues concerning commercial security, safety, police, fire and rescue and present the latest solutions. The security conference associated with the 6th edition of the annual exhibition to be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre will be chaired by Bill Wyllie, veteran security specialist and Head of Security for MBNA Bank Europe. The 3-day conference will on January 25 commence with a session on 'Fire, Safety and Security For Commercial Buildings'. Speakers will take a look at the best ways to use fire alarms, sprinkler systems, smoke detectors, CCTV systems, guarding, and burglar alarms. "The speakers will examine the necessity of fool proof security systems and good communication skills to best protect staff, valuables, products and equipment in business and industrial environments," said Imke Huelsmann, project manager for the Intersec, of the organising company, Epoc Messe Frankfurt. The morning session on the first day will be dedicated to 'Fire' with the highly rated speakers deliberating on the need to go for the best fire-protection system. "Among the issues they are scheduled to discuss the importance of fire fighting equipment in commercial buildings, and fire protection in towers and tall buildings," Huelsmann added. The afternoon session on 'Security' will discuss the advantages of going for CCTV and IP network digital video solutions, integrated enterprise solutions for security and all matters related to use of electronics and Internet protocol in providing foolproof security. The second day, January 26, will take up security matters so vital for the smooth functioning of airports, ports and free zones. In the wake of increased security threat from terrorists, experts participating in this session will focus on preventing terrorism, keeping out or detecting intruders, detecting drugs, nabbing smugglers, protecting cargo, dealing with emergencies and disasters, besides health and safety of passengers and workers. The final day that will concentrate in the morning on traffic systems, is set to present the latest solutions in vehicular traffic management. The importance of speed cameras, traffic lights, traffic police, signage, video surveillance and awareness campaigns to increase road safety, will be discussed in detail. The afternoon session will focus on fire fighting equipment and techniques. Speakers will take a look at the latest equipment and products in the market such as vehicles, safety clothing and communications equipment. Participants will get the opportunity of listening to experts who will address the issues of fire risk assessment methods and discuss new technologies for hot fire training.
