ABU DHABI, 28th September, 2014 (WAM) -- Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, has launched an initiative to contribute to the qualification and training of national cadres for the labour market in the U.A.E..

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak said that this initiative is in line with the directives of the leaders to achieve the requirements of Emiratisation, with President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the forefront, who believes that work is the true criterion of citizenship and a proof of sincerity and loyalty that distinguishes people from each other, and that everyone shares the responsibility of building this country in furtherance of its sovereignty, to safeguard its gains, and to build its future through strong will, high capacity, and outstanding achievement.

Sheikh Hamdan explained that the idea of the initiative also came out of the leadership role the Ministry is building to create a well-established labour market infrastructure in the country, and not only limiting its role to the higher education and scientific research field, by getting involved in training.

Dr. Saeed Hamad Al Hassani, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, said that the training course will last three months, during which the cadres will be trained on the current and future skills required in the labour market and different disciplines, with focus on management disciplines and information technology.

Dr. Al Hassani went on to say that applicants are required to have a Higher Diploma degree or a Bachelor’s degree, and will be given a financial reward for the period of training, as well as a certificate of experience at the end of the training session.
