LONDON, 14th December, 2017 (WAM) -- The Gulf Cooperation Council, GCC, and the United Kingdom have discussed ways to cooperate in fighting cybercrime and strengthening electronic defence lines at a meeting at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London.
The meeting between the two sides on cybersecurity, was attended by a number of senior officials from the GCC General Secretariat, GCC Police Unit, and UK's foreign and interior ministries.
GCC Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs and Negotiations, Dr. Abdul Aziz bin Hamad Al-Owaishek, emphasised that the GCC countries attach great importance to the development of capacities and the exchange of experiences in cybersecurity and cybercrime.
During the meeting, they reviewed the GCC efforts to combat cybercrime and the establishment of cybersecurity bodies and departments.
