DUBAI, 13th May, 2020 (WAM) -- The UAE government has finalised a series of meetings on a post COVID-19 strategy for the country, that will see a review of current ministerial and government structures, and focus on a two-phase recovery plan.

The UAE government held virtual meetings over a three-day period to assess the country's post pandemic strategy.

In a tweet on Wednesday, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, said that the UAE will review the structure and size of its government as part of its strategy for dealing with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

"We may merge ministries and alter bodies. We will make changes. We need a more agile, flexible and speedy government," His Highness added.

"Anyone who thinks that the world after COVID-19 will be the same as the one before it is mistaken," he said.

Over the course of the three days, UAE Ministers and officials took part in interactive sessions, along with global experts and researchers.

Meeting participants focused on six main sectors - health, economy, food security, education, society and government - formulating strategies for a post COVID-19 world.
