PENNSYLVANIA, 26th September, 2022 (WAM) -- The Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS) has partnered with leading organisations from across the UAE and US to advance its mission of driving inclusive and sustainable industrial development, contributing to achieving socio-economic prosperity across the world.
UAE’s ICT Fund, Sanad – a wholly owned subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company, Pittsburgh’s Elliott Group, Eithad Rail, UPMC, and Schneider Electric are amongst a list of partners that will help facilitate a global dialogue on the future of innovation, manufacturing, and advanced technology at the inaugural edition of GMIS America from 28th-30th September 2022, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Centre in Pittsburgh.
The partnerships will help foster cross-sector collaboration through exchanging knowledge and expertise to address global industrial challenges and explore new areas of growth to drive economic progress worldwide.
Discussions at GMIS America will help raise the efficiency and competitiveness of the industrial sector and highlight how advanced technologies can support the growth of sustainable industrial practices, driving economic growth and global prosperity.
Elliott Group (Title Partner) is joined by fellow US organisations, Richard King Mellon Foundation, the (UPMC), UPMC Health Plans, Schneider Electric, University of Pittsburgh, West Virginia University, National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), and Catalyst Connection.

UAE organisations Sanad and ICT Fund are joined by Etihad Rail and Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) in partnering with the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit to facilitate cooperation between American and Emirati companies and reshape the future of the industrial sector.

A high-level UAE delegation is attending GMIS America to present the country’s ambitious industrial strategy to enable investment, innovation opportunities and collaboration between the USA and Emirati businesses. As co-chair of the GMIS, the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology will showcase the UAE’s national industrial agenda (Operation 300Bn) and the "Make It In The Emirates" initiatives, highlighting the nation’s manufacturing opportunities, value propositions and priority sectors.

Under the theme "Advancing Global Industrialisation and Net Zero", GMIS America will convene more than 60 international speakers to drive sustainable manufacturing practices and the clean energy transition. It will connect influential leaders from government, business, and civil society to explore the future of manufacturing and how it fits into the global energy transition. CEOs and senior leaders from partner organisations joining the speaker line-up include: - Mike Lordi, CEO (Ret.) of Elliott Group, will deliver a keynote address - Omar Al Mahmoud, CEO of ICT Fund, will examine socio-economic factors affecting global supply chains, the possible scenarios for the future of global manufacturing, and the effect of global supply chain design on net zero goals -Jeanne Cunicelli, President of UPMC entreprises, will discuss how research, clinical care, cell and gene therapies (CGT) investment, and manufacturing will accelerate the development of life-saving therapies - Diane Holder, CEO of UPMC Health Plan, will deliver a TedX-style talk on healthcare issues - Patrick Gallagher, Chancellor of the University of Pittsburgh and Bryan Morreale, Associate Director for Research and Innovation at National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), will address strategies to overcome the current barriers preventing the realisationof the global hydrogen economy - Christina Cassotis, CEO of Allegheny County Airport Authority (ACAA), will discuss best practices in business model innovation and creating value through advanced manufacturing - Petra Mitchell, President and CEO of Catalyst Connection, will moderate a session to examine how multinational manufacturers and SMEs can participate in the additive manufacturing value chain - Mansoor Janahi, Group CEO of Sanad, will participate in a panel discussion highlighting the opportunities offered through the UAE’s national industrial strategy. Additionally, the Sanad CEO will join a panel with senior leaders from Triumph Group, Thales, and WhiteOak to explore the future of industrial services - Kendrick Tang, Rail Planning and Sales Director of Etihad Rail, will highlight how regional trade agreements can be structured to future-proof supply chains and global economies Hosted by Honorable Thomas Wolf, the Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, GMIS America will host multiple activities over three days from September 28 – 30, 2022. The event will comprise of high-profile sessions across several formats, including keynote addresses, panel discussions, and fireside chats, as well as a gala dinner, interactive workshops and working groups on September 28 and 29. On September 30, GMIS America will host exclusive site visits to advanced tech centres and industrial facilities throughout Pittsburgh to showcase the latest innovations and technology solutions available in the city and encourage cross-sectoral collaboration and partnership opportunities.
Set to take place annually in the US, GMIS America is a roadshow by the world’s most high-profile manufacturing and advanced technology conference, the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS).
Co-chaired by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, GMIS offers a voice and venue for global industry leaders to place manufacturing at the heart of economic regeneration and government policymaking and utilise technology as a tool for global cooperation.
