RIYADH, 19th October, 2022 (WAM) -- During a discussion organised by the UAE Embassy in Riyadh entitled "Prospects for Cooperation and Economic Integration between the UAE and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” Sheikh Nahyan bin Saif Al Nahyan, UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, underscored the strength of strategic relations between the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

These relations, the ambassador remarked, are based on solid foundations and are supported by the leadership of the two countries. In turn, he added, these ties serve to achieve shared developmental goals towards a more prosperous future.

In highlighting the importance of enhancing integration between the two countries, Ambassador Al Nahyan pointed out that UAE-Saudi relations represent an exceptional model of cooperation and solidarity at all levels. He praised the development and growth of the Kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Moreover, Ambassador Al Nahyan noted the strengthening of strategic cooperation between the two countries and their joint efforts to leverage resources and capabilities.

The session, which was moderated by Mohammed Al-Qahtani, Head of the Commercial Affairs Department at the UAE Embassy, included a discussion on bilateral relations, Saudi Vision 2030, national economic growth, and the link between a knowledge-based economy and development. A number of topics of common interest were also reviewed, as well as emerging global issues. Participants discussed the political and economic impact of these events on the UAE and Saudi Arabia, as well as on regional economic growth.

For his part, Salman bin Muhammad Olayan, Member of the Saudi-Emirati Joint Business Council, President of the Olayan Group for Commercial Investment, and President and Founder of Jawab Centre, underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries, which are the largest economies in the region.

Moreover, he discussed the Council’s activities and called for the formation of a committee focused on development.

In his speech, Olayan stated that Saudi Vision 2030 will boost prosperity throughout the region. He explained that human capital, and not material resources, is the main driver of national development.

Attendees also discussed the high level of cooperation between the UAE and Saudi Arabia and expressed hope that bilateral meetings and visits would contribute to realizing the shared ambitions of both countries.
